Key Concepts

Opening additional locations is a different form of expansion.
As with expanding services, be sure you have the financial resourcesbefore opening an additional location. Be sure the major milestones have been achieved.
Having a standard model for your business ensures uniformity among locations. Saves time, and saves money.
Having a set model allows you to “copy and paste” to another location.
The two main areas that allow you to copy and paste your location model are the office set up and the policies and procedures.
The office set up will establish the physicality of the location.
The policies and procedures will define how the location will function.
Advantages of opening additional locations include increase revenue,increased customer access to care, and increased competitiveness.
Disadvantages include evolvement into a corporate entity, increased administration, loss of quality control, and increasing deviation from the company you originally envisioned.
The overall cost of opening an additional location is found by simply adding up the costs of individual items.
The two major ways you can increase your business independence is to buy land and build the new location on that land.
